Default Mt. Rainier

Here's a pic I just took about 30 minutes ago and just sent the paper.
Fauntleroy to Southworth ferry riders are offered a majestic view of Mt. Rainier, bathed in the evening sunset, as they approach the ferry terminal in Southworth, Wa., on Wednesday May 27, 2009.

Nice capture Jim, it looks like the sky was clear which gave a clear haze free image.

Cool shot. I spent a little time in Seattle awhile back, and its amazing how big that mountain is. While there, when coming back from work on the first cleat day, there it is and its actually 3 hours away.

Impressive mountain. I'd love to see it in person someday.

Mt. Rainier is amazing! I remember flying past it to get to Seattle and seeing it for the first time. It is unbelievably huge! Good picture.

Nice landscape shot. Though I wish the foreground objects were closer.

Yea, I wished the ferry was closer too, but, the only way to get that shot would be out on a another boat. I was mainly using Rainier as the main subject, hoping that anything would appear closer in the foreground for scale. Normally, there are quite a few fishermen out, but guess they were all fished out from the Memorial Day weekend or their wives wouldn't let them go out.

But, good thing that Rainier isn't going away anytime soon. I jote it down in my notebook of photo ideas to return with a friends boat. He's always asking me fishing, but I'm the type of angler that goes to a fish market and get a fillet or two I'm assured a catch that way
