Default My inspired drip

Inspired by all the water drips drops and crowns threads, I decided to give it a go...
Now, before you all laugh at my result, keep in mind I only have a point and shoot camera, no focus lock, no infra-red/ultra-sonic/sooper-dooper-droplet-snooper whizz-bang sensor to fire my (built-in) flash, AND it was hand-held...

I thought I had no chance whatsoever, so I didn't bother with any backdrop or anything to start with (yes - I admit it looks really awful with the tap and sink in the background)... and blow me down if I didn't get this on the second try So I hastily set up a plain white backdrop to hide the tap and stuff - then took another 50-odd shots that just completely failed to capture the moment again... before the camera's battery gave out, thus putting an end to the experiment.

Well - I was chuffed to bits when I saw this at full size, so I thought I'd share.

(OK - You all have permission to laugh now )
Grumby.

Default Drip shot!

Wow, I don't find the background that distracting. As a matter of fact the reflections in the orb bring me right back to the subject.

Actually, i really LIKE the background. theres lots of curvy lines and reflections... And you can see those reflections in the drop itself, too. nice stuff!
