Gosh that looks so much like our barns and the condition of them as well...only the paint is generally black.

That is a shame to be pulled down. But you have captured it to keep forever. Great textures in these shots Jack and your second post really shows the barn well against the lovely blue sky. It's a shame the town planners don't see the beauty of what us photogaphers see. Nice work Jack, thanks for showing us.

Jake.

Great picture Ian. America is such an amazing country. I have never seen before so many abandoned barns, sheds, lodges, houses, factories even whole towns, this seems another example of a group of people wanting to rip something down with little thought to the beauty and history, well done for capturing it before it gets demolished

thx guys .. It really is sad .. we moved here 18 years ago .. 35,000 and stalled as the water and sanitation was at capacity .. then some clown with $3B offered to put in a "big pipe" down to Lake Ontario .. nice ..

Love that shot. The angle is great for it. I have been trying to find an old barn somewhere around here, but I haven't seen any.

To bad they wouldn't spend the money to keep stuff like that going..

The star on the barn is an interesting touch. I'm glad you captured it and I wonder what it meant to the owners who put it there. I love the character of old barns and you've shown it off well. Sorry to see it's going.

Thx again guys .. There are many in the path of the (re-) progression .. I'm going to do a series and should post them somewhere to try and shame the town a bit .. Also there's a ton of 200-300 year old oaks that are super healthy and super huge, they better all still be there in the little parks scattered throughout this sprawl .. .. I wish I had geo-plotting on my camera .. we're right on the edge of a well protected ecological zone in the Niagara Escarpment .. they're scraping up just about everything for mile upon mile.. right up to and abutting the "buffer zone" .. like half a kilometer .. nice eh?
