Sounds like a bug with the Windows (maybe just Vista?) version of GIMP. I am using Ubuntu 8.10

I am very sorry

If you read the documentation (which is lacking like all GPL licensed software) there is a little comment regarding GEGL, quote "a tentative integration of GEGL", it is still in Beta or Alpha.

Also, Vista does have problems with the Gimp, but you won't find that out on the site. Normaly if you have issues you really have to go to a Gimp forum or search the net.

Here is a link to a Flickr post on the subject

http://www.flickr.com/groups/gimpuse...7615774923995/

And to show how arrogant Gimp developers can be, and also one of the drawbacks of using this software read the first comment on this link

http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/gimp-2...--p277965.html

This is a fairly standard comment. When the Gimp first released, although it was not powerful or standardized it was marketed at the photography community. Since then it has become a graphics manipulation package which has removed itself from photography into the world of comic books, and its features are becoming more and more confusing. And this will continue as those that work on development try to move the product further away from Photoshop.

Sad because it is quite a good product.

OMG, this GEGL thingy rocks!!! (Ubuntu 8.10 x64 + GIMP 2.6.1)

Here's the screenshot of transforming the image I posted in SYS a day or two ago...

(you can find original unedited photo here - I like this edit so much more)

So... THANK YOU FOR THIS TIP!
