Thanks for the reply. I do think it makes her look more shadowed. I wasn't sure if it was the color of the texture or just the light/dark of the original layer. I love the textured looks. It's difficult to find a lot of people who do like them. |

Ostensibly, you are creating a layer when you drag a texture over the original photo..that said, you also can create a mask over that and by using a soft white or black brush you can paint in, or selectively remove some of the texture

To me, the effect you have here looks like an old postcard. It just doesn't seem to work with this photo. If you could move out in the street more and just take a photo of the street with your model just walking down the sidewalk, I think you could have a very nice photo using the technique you used here.

Yeah, if you're going to use a texture on this one, have it lighten your subject.
