Importing RAW into Elements

Hello everyone,
As someone relatively new to photography I have just discovered the benefits of shooting RAW and now shoot using the option RAW + small JPEG. I bought my Canon 30D second hand and have no software that may have come with it when it was first purchased.

When I download photos my computer is set to automatically open and download into Elements. However only the JPEG version of the file is imported. To get the RAW version I have to use windows explorer to open the files on my memory card and manually copy and paste.

Is there a way to automate this?

So you are using a version of Windows and version of Photoshop Elements? Do you know which versions of each?

I use Elements 6.0 and Vista. Any ideas?

No, but there should be some Elements users flying Vista out there.

I have Elements 6 and Vista (so there is at least 2 of us)

Elements 6 will definately be able to handle RAW files from a 30D as the camera came out will before the software. Just make sure you have the latest verision of Adobe Camara Raw installed. You will be able to get the most up to date version that can be used with PSE6 from the Adobe website.

Once ACR is installed you just open the raw file like any other. This will automatically lanuch the ACR plug in to convert the raw to a TIFF file.
