Default GIMP coloring issues

I love GIMP, and have been using it for quite some time now. However, I'm noticing that there are times when I make color changes in GIMP (such as adjusting levels or doing some color balance corrections), save the changes, close the file, and go look at the saved file through Preview or Iweb (I'm using an IMac.) The changes I made in GIMP look great in GIMP, but the colors are completely different through Preview, Iweb, or any other application. It's driving me crazy! I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issues or is it just me.

I haven't experienced this. Mind posting examples?

Does this happen if you save as an XCF (gimp file), view it in gimp, then save as a jpeg and view it in Preview?

If so, could you post an XCF where this happens?

The image on the left is in preview, the one on the right is from GIMP. I save the image in GIMP then opened in Preview to get the screen shot.

Sounds like colour management, I know gimp supports colour management both monitor and working space (rgb) profiles.

Which does Iweb and preview use?

Up to now I havent had any problems like this but im using windows and imageviewer and i work in standard sRGB workspace.
