Default How do I get rid of red eye in a spider?

So I took a photo of a house spider and it came out pretty cool. Aside from one little glitch. The spider's eye has the equivalent of red eye that dogs and cats get. How do I get rid of it??

In photoshop:

Double click Quick mask icon
Change masking color to green-opacity 60%
Paint mask over eyes
Click icon next to Quick mask
Select> Inverse
Image> adjustments> Desaturate
Add new adjustment layer-Levels
Move both input sliders towards the centre of the range until you are satisfied.
Layers> Flatten image

I don't know, but that's certainly an interesting question!

Lightroom has a feature that easily corrects red-eye in photographs. Could be of good help to you considering a spider has more eyes than usual.

PS -- this is the best question I heard all week!

Thanks for the help. I'll have to get photoshop or lightroom and try it.

It would have been a lot easier if you would have just told the spider not to look directly at the flash...

Hmm, I just noticed the date of the OP, so I may be a day late and a dollar short, but here goes anyway.

Using GIMP (which is a pp tool that's very similar to photoshop, but it's free).
  1. Zoom to about 200% so you can really see the eye.
  2. Use your color picker tool on the eye that does not have "red eye". Select a color sample of 3.
  3. Use the Ellipse tool to select around the red eye, make sure to feather the edges (I feathered mine at a 5)
  4. Fill in the selection with the foreground color
  5. Using your paintbrush at approx. 75% opacity, create catchlights to mimick the catchlights in the other eye

While I have nothing more to contribute to the discussion, I have to say that this may be the most unusual post-processing question I've seen yet.
