Default Adobe photoshop

I see alot of folks who use Adobe Photoshop. I only have the 6.0 version and havent used it to much but I would like to know how to cut and paste in the program.. when i bring up a photo and want to paste it in another photo my copy and paste is always in the gray? I would really like to be able to learn more in Photoshop but its fustrating to figure out the simple things in the program..
I have always used Paintshop Pro 2x Ultimate as its more user friendly but many say that the Photoshop is better?

Go up top to Select and select all if you want to copy the entire image then you can copy and paste. If you want to copy a portion of a image there's tools on the left to let you select parts of image...

I feel ya. I am using v5.5. Learning it without a manual is tough! I have a book on v5.5 "SAMs teach Yourself Adobe Photoshop 5.5 in 24 Hours".
I do not need it any more. PM me an address and it is yours.

Default did you mean

you are trying to get 2 different photos into one photo. Open one of the photos. Or
Ctrl-click on the two photos you are trying to get together. I think PS6 will open both photos. Then with both photos the first one you chose should be open. there should be one layer called background layer. Just use the move tool CTRL-V it's the plus tool with an arrow on top of the tool palette, place it on the other photo and drag it in. If you hold down the shift key it will place the photo you are dragging in right smack dab in the middle. Then you should see the background layer, and another called layer 1 in the first photo. Change the blend mode on layer 1 to screen or lighten, Or lower the opacity of layer 1 and you can see the background layer photo. hope this helps if i understood the question correctly
