Noise Ninja
Nik Dfine 2.0

I don't have a program either but those are the 2 I'm looking at. Wondering if anyone has any opinion on which one to get...

I use Nik Dfine 2.0. I really lke how easy it is and I'm a big fan of how easy it is to do selective sharpening. Like it's incredibly easy to sharpen say, everything but the sky if that's what you're trying to do. No extra layer masks and their selection tool is really top notch.

I've been using Noise Ninja for a little while now and love it.

$70 or so for the full version that includes a standalone program and add-ons for both photoshop and aperture. Bargain!

I use one called noiseware, it has sliders for just about everything so you can get the right balance between reduced noise and image detail.

Thanks i ve got to check into those. I usally don't try to over and ISO of 400, but lately I've needed to use an ISO of 800 and 1600. I still learning, so I guess i just have to figure out what settings work best.

Why fix it afterwards? Why not get it right when you are making the image? Learn to understand the "Zone System", and get your exposure right, then you won't need to "fix it afterwards"-90% of chroma noise is due to incorrect exposure. But if you want a way to fix afterwards, nothing beats this method:

1- Noise (Chroma-colour noise)

- Image> Mode> LAB Colour> Channels
Channel “a” Gaussian blur 5 pixels
Channel “b” Gaussian blur 5 pixels
Channel “lightness” Filter> noise> despeckle
Image> Mode> RGB colour

2-Noise (Luma -Grainy noise)
-lasso area and apply smart blur at default setting (For small areas)
-Or Ctrl+J
-Smart blur-Then eraser tool to expose background features
