I think it depends what you are trying to save it for. As a memory of who was there, no problem; as a stunning, portfolio-worthy photograph, no chance.

Not that I would expect anyone to know this, but the bag is the reason for the photo. This was done for my alma mater's induction ceremony into the Education department. You get the bag when you're accepted. It's a big deal to the education people.

Default You could try this

Go to channels. Make a copy of the red channel. Ctrl click the red channel copy. Crtl-C to copy the channel. Turn off the red channel copy ( click the eye). Turn on the RGB channel. Go to layers. Add a new layer. Ctrl-V to paste the channel into the new layer. Add a levels adiustment. Move the center slider to the left to brighten it up a bit. Change the blend mode to screen, adjust the opacity to your liking. Add a hue saturation adjustment layer to bump up the color. That brightens up the picture. now the Purse. I would save the psd, then flatten it and save it as a jpg at this point. Open the new jpg. Click the quick mask icon twice. Make sure SELECTED AREAS is selected. Click OK. then press Q, to turn on quick mask. Black as your foreground color paint the purse. Zoom in to get a good selection around the fingers and the bent corners. change the brush size as needed, left bracket smaller, right bracket larger. When its painted to your liking, press Q. Then Ctrl-J twice. Make two copies of the selection. With later1 copy selected go to filter>high pass> you could convert it to a smart object if your version of photoshop allows it. This lets you adjust the filter if needed. I tried 4. The higher the number, the brighter the purse. Change the blend mode to soft light, overlay, hardlight whatever pleases your eye. Then with layer copy1 selected. Press ALT-CTRL-SHIFT-E. This puts a layer of all the layers on top. Change the blend mode to lighten. If you don't know this when you change the blend mode and the blend mode is highlighted you can up arrow or down arrow through the blend modes. I would have posted the image but I'm new here and don't know how. Hope this helps

YAY for Pioneer Woman actions! Those are the best, especially since they're free!

had to have a go at it. I used Niks Color Efex with the remove color cast and sunshine effects. Removed noise and jpg artifacts. Certainly not perfect and its rather tiny
