Default Brushes

Hello everyone

I have a questions for all the Photoshop experts out there. How do I actually use the brushes that I download from the internet in Photoshop Elements. I managed to download a few that I like, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to bring them in Photoshop.

Help please!

Thank you
Andreea

Hi Andreea,
I don't know if its the same with Elements but in regular Photoshop you would...

On your computer (Mac click on Applications) (PC click on Program Files) and open the Adobe Photoshop folder. Then open the folder that says Presets. Then drag the abr files into the Brushes folder. Restart Photoshop and your new brushes will be ready to go. Hope that helps!

No need to be even that runaround about it.

In photoshop, open the brushes window, on the top right there's a small circle with a triangle in it: click that, LOAD BRUSHES, and find the brushes on your HD (i keep mine in a big folder all together), then click okay. Much easier to control what youre using this way.

True. But on the other hand its a more efficient workflow when the brushes are placed in the Presets folder. That way you can get to your brush set quickly from within Photoshop without having to open a new window to load 'em every time you want to use 'em. And like everything else there is a million ways to achieve the same result. Whatever works best for you, do that.

Having it in the Presets makes your preset list SUPER long and just as convoluted. I prefer to simply have one set of brushes working at a time, without encumbrance.
