Hello All,
My question is this ... If I'm shooting with a Sony A350 14.2MP DSLR in ARW (RAW) format, What is the largest acceptable (saleable quality) print size I should expect to reach when using 300 dpi? Thank you for any help in this area, and I apologize if it's been asked and answered elsewhere. PH |

The very first thing to remember is that acceptable printing sizes are entirely dependent on the viewing distance. That's actually where pixel peepers bother themselves, from looking too close. Since you put on the restriction of 300dpi, it's matter of simple division.
4592 x 3056 / 300 x 300 = 15.3 x 10.18 In practice, you can print much larger, since 300dpi is excessive for large sizes. You just don't stand as close when you view the final print. For example, mpix.com is perfectly happy making you a life size wall cling with a 6mp camera: Mpix.com - Wall Clings
