Cropping to a particular size - Quick Question...

Im using photoshop CS2 and very soon CS3. But my question is this:

If I want to crop in closer on a photo - is there a way to ensure that my crop comes out even on all sizes like a normal photo - I dont want to accidentally make it square or something that would be hard to have printed.

Also - Im shooting with a Rebel XTi - what is the limit on my cropping without losing quality to blow up to at least a 16x24 size?

I don't use photoshop but it should have within the cropping tool an option to set an aspect ratio. There you can plug in whatever size you want to keep it cropped to - 5x7, 4x6 or whatever you'd like.

No idea about your second question off the top of my head, sorry.
