Question Please Help...

Hello. I have always had a love for photography. Recently people began commenting on some of my work and asking me to take photos for them! Very exciting...but I have a LOT to learn! One big issue I am having... How do I prevent cropping of images/resize them. I know I can control the cropping/pick the cropping if I print the pictures myself. But what if I wanted to give the disc of pictures to my friends to print themselves?!? One of my friends took the pictures in and parts of heads were cropped off Also, I figured out how to make my own watermark, but part of it gets cropped off also when the photo is enlarged.SO PLEASE HELP!!! I really want to help my friends out and gain more experience...but I don't want chopped off head photos!
Thanks,
Arlene

When the pics are being printed, the size is probably not the same ratio as the picture.

Most DSLR's are taking pics at a 3:2 ratio. But if you print a 5x7, the ratio will be off and parts of the image will be cropped off since the ratio would end up being 7:5. And likewise, an 8x10 would be at a ratio of 5:4 so parts of the image end up being cropped off as well.

So do I have to change those settings on my camera? Or is something I can do with photoshop after I have already taken the photo? Also, if I were to make the photo ratio an 8x10 sz, would they be able to print the 5x7 and 4x6 without cropping? Or does this need done special for each pic? Thanks for your help!
