I have just bought a Eye-One calibrating tool, and calibrated my Imac LCD monitor. I let the computer be on for 30 min's and i did it in the light in which I normally edit my photos. After calibrating, the screen looked darker, and more dull than it normally does. I changed back to the Imac calibrating profile and all the colors immediately seems more vibrant and lively again.
Did I do something wrong whilst calibrating, I thought I followed the instructions. Is the screen meant to look "darker" for accurate photo-editing?? Greatful for any thoughts and input!

I don't have an Imac, running a PC here, but out of curiosity, did you set your monitor back to all of the defaults? specifically brightness and contrast? They are supposed to be defaulted before you calibrate.

Did you try editing and printing from both calibrated and non-calibrated settings? I know my monitor displays a bit brighter than prints do
