Lightroom RAW conversion question

Hi,

I've been using Lightroom to convert my RAW files and find that the conversions never look like the JPEGs produced by my camera (D60) and look worse (desaturated). It takes a lot of effort for me to get them back to looking like the JPEGs. Actually when I first import the photos into Lightroom, the initial previews do look like the JPEGs but Lightroom then re-renders them.

Is there any way to fix this and get the RAW conversions to look EXACTLY like the jpegs?

yes. Download and install adobe's DNG profiles which include your camera manufacturer's profiles. Beware though that they may not look exactly the same given that you will be looking at them on your monitor.

That's how raw works. You're supposed to tone the images so they look how you want. If you want the camera to think for you, shoot jpg.
