Red face Creating slide shows in QuickTime format

The question, how do you process your still photos to a slide show, convert them to a QuickTime movie for viewing on the web and finally, do all of that with the smallest file size possible, yet retain a good quality show?

Does anyone have experience with this or can they point me in the right direction for training, books on it or website info?

I have an example of a QT slide show that has 20 scenes, music and 1 minute long. It is only 2.86mb in size; screen size is 640x480 and is very sharp.

I have played around with different settings, but thought maybe someone out there has some experience that I could learn from.

I have made a show with same info, 20 scenes, music and 1 minute long. Convert to QT and it comes out at 105mb. Use QT Pro to re export it and it comes out at 16mb. While the quality is great, it is still way to big for my needs. I tried to create the original show again, but this time I set the quality at 50%. Converted to QT and the output is now 29mb and show still looks good, re export it again in QT Pro and the file comes in just under 16mb. I am confused, thought it would be smaller than the first time.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

JM
