Default PSE7 and RAW

I started shooting in RAW a few days ago. I got a new monitor (KDS k-92bw) around the same time.

When I go into PSE7 to edit the RAW images, it seems that a red area pops up on the image. I don't know what it is or where it comes from. It seems to be (maybe) overexposed areas?

For instance:

See the red area? Is it there for a reason or maybe my new monitor can't handle the color? I'm lost, any input would be appreciated.

You've got the warnings on for blown out areas. Give the recovery slider a tweak and you will see the amount of red reduce as you recover some of the highlight detail. You can turn off the warnings by clicking on the little up arrow on the top right of the histogram.

Remember how to turn them back on through as they are useful when adjusting exposure in RAW files.

Thanks, that is what I expected. I've just started messing with RAW so thanks for the tip.
