Default Where has Exif gone???

Hi

I am use Photoshop Elements 7 to import my images direct. When i use raw files the images import no problem and when the image properties is viewed the full camera Exif date is displayed.
I the save the image as jpeg but when the Exif data is viewed it bare no resemblence to the original Exif data. Can anyone explain where Exif has gone.
It would be good if someone has a neat suggestion for how to handle the import of raw files which I then store on an external hard drive and would then like to batch convert to Jpeg.

Thanks in advance

Colin

How are you saving the images to Jpg? I'm not all that familiar with PSE7, but if it's anything like regular photoshop, if you do a save for web instead of save as, photoshop gets rid of all the exif info when it saves it.

I believe that "save for web" destroys EXIF data, but just plain saving as a jpeg does not. Is this your case?

Hi

I import the images as raw. Then once in the PSE 7 catologue I save them as jpeg. The exif data then appears to show that the image has been imported from the hard drive as opposed to the camera and does not show exif data such as aperture speed etc.

Thanks

Colin
