I just got a Mac 10.5 and I downloaded Gimp. I have used it to edit some colors on my photos and that works fine. But when I try to use the toolbox tools (paintbrush, clone, healing brush, etc.) Gimp quits. It just closes, but there's no pop-up that says anything like "The application Gimp has unexpectedly quit" (which I would expect to happen).
So what am I missing???? Is it something I'm doing or is it the computer or Gimp itself? I'd really appreciate some suggestions here...I've never used anything this advanced before so I'm still getting used to the program! |

Where did you get your copy of The Gimp from? I use the version from Wilbur Loves Apple (although I'm still on OS X 10.4); that site looks like it is running down but still has recent versions for 10.5 available.

I had that same issue when i first installed GIMP on my mac. Try downloading a different version here. If that version doesn't work, install the Tiger version from here. Make absolutely sure you have the most current version of X11, too. GIMP can be tricky to install on a mac, but well worth the effort.
