Exclamation Printing Help

Hi i recently took some pictures of a friends child but when i printed them they came out grainy Can someone please explain to me why this has happened is it my printer or my camera settings

MY CAMERA: canon eos 400d dslr, f/ 5.6, 1/250sec, iso-1600, focal length-35mm

MY PRINTER: hp psc 1215 (my ink is Hp)

MY PHOTO PAPER: 190gsm high quality, glossy photo paper

ISO 1600 is what is causing the grain.

Next problem could be that your HP Printer is magnifying the problem. Check your printer settings and turn off all of the HP enhancements. I once printed a grainy dark sky and it turned out horrible on my HP printer. Then I turned off all the enhancements that the print driver tries to do (sharpen, vibrant, contrast, skin tones, etc.) and the sky turned out much better.

Give that a shot.

use a lower ISO less than 400 should do the trick on a 400D
