Off the top of my head its either when you go to the print tab on the top right or else use the export drop down from file tab-top left which will give you the option to save as tiff or jpeg etc.
It's something like that anyway..

Hi,
In Lightroom nothing gets saved directely to the original file ever.
Lightroom is a "non destructive" software. It never modified the original file.
Once you edited the file, all edits are saved in Lightroom database.
Then at export time the edits are applied to the exported files.

You can do Export in the Library.
Things can be also done in the Print tab, the Web tab & slideshow tab
All have different purpose.

I believe in order to maintain the metedata like the EXIF info you should export from the library as printing to file in the print work space seems to strip it from my experience.
