![]() Quite simple actually. Create a new layer. Sample the flesh color on his face (make sure sample all layers is checked). Select the brush tool. Use the right braciket key to make the brush about the size of his head. Set the flow to 10%. Slowly move the brush around the shiney parts of his head until you get something like the above.

this looks really unnatural.
About the only way I have found to successfully fix overblown exposure is to make adjustments if you are shooting in RAW. Using the brush tool for something like this almost never has a natural end result. Quote:

After a little reading and trail and error....I was able to come up with this. It seems a little more natural.
I used the selection tool and chose the top area of the head. I then went to Enhance>Adjust lighting> Levels. I then slid the white side down a few levels > but not to much, What do you think? Did it work?

Definitely better than the painted version! And probably about as good as you're going to get it with that glare.
We do the painting too in some cases, but in low opacity, like 30% or less, and build it up. Also do it on a layer so you can back down the opacity again if you need to. And the colour should match the skin tone..and you need to clean up your overspray. It should not look obvious. |
