Default What kind of technique is used in this fabulous photo??

Can someone tell me what technique the photographer used for this one? It looks like HDR a little bit, but still, it has that "painting" mood that I really want to learn. Thnx in advance.

That photo is awesome! Looks like HD. High contrasted, low saturation. But i could be wrong.

High Dynamic Range.

A software application that takes 3 images of the same subject but of different exposure levels and combines them into a single image with a greater dynamic range.

I've changed the image to a link. Firstly it was oversized - 800px max on the longest side please, which means using medium size from Flickr. Secondly, if you are asking about how the image was done, I'm guessing it is not your own. Asking how an effect was created is fine but there really should be a link back to where it was originally found - credit where credit is due and all that.

You should see an edit button at the bottom of your own posts which will let you go back and updated the message, which will let you put in a slightly smaller image and a link back.

I'm sorry, when I posted this, I had already copied the link of the (big) photo, and it was easier for me.
I modified the post.
So, how this picture was done?

A good free program that will let you do this is Qtpfsgui , costs nothing to download and doesnt watermark yr images . You can also tonemap a single image to get a similiar result , if you have other Q's PM me and I'll try to help . OsmosisStudios nailed it first time HDR it is .

thnx, im already downloading it.

also I noticed at photo's properties (on flickr),
Software: Paint Shop Pro Photo 12,01

probably this software (I dont use it, hence just assuming) might have that effect, + HDR, I think.

Paintshop Pro is kinda like photoshop. It doesnt have an HDR system built in. That line in the EXIF was probably changed if the creator cropped or otherwise edited the image after HDR processing.

As for the "painterly" effect, its likely just because of some movement in the scene. Remember, a PROPER HDR is done with 3 shots taken one after the other, so there may be movement.
