Hi there,
I tried shooting in RAW today for the first time and when I got home and tried to import my photos with Lightroom 2.3 it gave me the warning message, "No photos were found to import." I am shooting with a Sony Alpha 300. I have been googling all morning and looking in my Scott Kelby books but can't figure this out. I also have Photoshop CS4 but was hoping that Lightroom would take care of this for me? I am very excited to learn about how to use both of my new pieces of software and how to shoot in RAW. Can you all help out a newbie to this stuff?! Thanks a million!!!

I'll ask the obvious question first, are you sure you pointed it to the correct place to look for the files? Have you tried to manually with windows explorer browse that location and verify that files are there? That said, I am not familiar with your camera, if it is very new you might need to update LR to get the correct raw converter.

Yep, I am able to import them with Picasa (which just converts them to JPEGs from what I understand). But I am hearing a little bit online about a bug with Lightroom (even the newest version) and Sony Alphas... I have heard there is a way that you can still import with Lightroom but cannot find any instructions. Not sure if I need a card reader rather than directly importing from the camera (although I'm not sure why that would be... but was mentioned in one post on another site). Blech! Anyone else having this issue or know of any work arounds? I purchased Lightroom because I thought it would help me with this kind of workflow stuff and quick importing/editing multiple photos at once, etc. I had heard such good things about it but can't figure out what to do to start working with it!
Thanks for any help!!!
