Hi sometimes when I soft proof my photos in photoshop the photos become dull as if someone has put a layer of tint on photos. The prints are still acceptable. But if the soft proofing shows a bit more muted colors and brightness what is the best way of adjusting curves?
thanks for help

I'm betting you have a color management issue somewhere. The soft proof may be displaying your photo using a different color profile than your screen (or print) profile. I don't use photoshop, but I have had similar problems in Gimp. Check your preferences and see what color profile you are using for proofing, and whether that's a sensible one or not.

Are you having your photos printed in a lab that corrects for color? I see that one of your cameras is a D300, they are not the easiest camera to set for correct color. Have you tried the "Vivid" setting to see if that gives you more of what you are looking for.

Thanks - I print myself on Epson R1800 and mostly shoot RAW and then coor correct on Photoshop. I calibrated both my monitor and the printer using colomunki but i was not terribly happy with the printer profile. My prints look much better using the printer proifles that i downloded from the epson websit
