Default Can Lightroom do this?

As I said before, I am playing with Lightroom and, up to now, I am pleased with what I see (I recently discovered the 'graduated filter' and I liked it). I was wondering, though, if Lr can do any of these?

1. Correct perspective (make tilting buildings appear straight again)
2. HDR
3. Create that kind of picture, where the entire frame is b/w, but one thing appears in a different color (usually red, since that catches the attention easily). Sorry, I don't know the right terminology, but I thing you got the idea (classic picture is the little girl wearing a red outfit, or a cityscape, where ared bicycle appears in teh frame - of course, everything else is grayscale)

Thanks,

Laurentiu

1. No, not really. You can straighten a crooked picture, but you can't really correct perspective other than that (at least not that I've been able to find).
2. Nope, that you need a different program for.
3. Yes, you can. I've downloaded some presets that have a set of presets that do that.

1 and 2 have already been answered.

For selective coloring, just use the adjustment brush set to -100 saturation and brush over what you want b\w. You will have to zoom in when you get close to the item you want to remain in color, but with the brush set to "mask", you should be able to get right up to it without effecting it.

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for your answer. Could you tell me where did you find those presets? I would really appreciate it.

...Edited...

Never mind. Long live Google, the King!
Found this: http://www.prophotoshow.net/blog/200...ate-free-list/ (for those too lazy to search) ;-)
In there I found Jack Davis’s WOW Lightroom Preset Collection, that had something similar. I tested it quickly and liked it!

Thanks again,

Laurentiu

Red face Another can Lightroom do this question

I also have a question regarding lightroom. I woud like to start experimenting with textures (as in layers) but only have lightroom 2 and piknik from flickr. Does Lightroom do textures? Or do I have to get another program such as gimp? I am assuming that if I do need to get a program then there are tutorials on here......? Thanks for the replies!

I use PTLens to correct perspective -

PTLens is software that corrects lens pincushion/barrel distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberration, and perspective. The following are supported:

* PC (Windows 2000 or later, screen resolution at least 1024x768 DPI 96)
o Standalone application (JPEG, 8 or 16-bit TIFF)
o External editor for Lightroom (JPEG, 8 or 16-bit TIFF)
o Plug-in for Photoshop (any 8 or 16-bit RGB image)

go to PTLens to download a free trial version
