Default Hdr

Wanted to kick off a discussion of HDR. Anyone have any questions or comments about HDR? I'd be happy to help. Also, for those who have played with HDR, post one HDR into this thread along with your comments.

Enjoy!

Where to start? I think I understand the basic premise of HDR...I guess the thing is to get some software and get started. I would appreciate any recommendations.

When you're snapping different exposures...whether automatically bracketing or just changing exposure manually, how do you deal with the scene changing? What if the clouds are moving quickly? What if you're capturing running water with a slow shutter speed? Does the software help with this?

Its a nice "painting". HDR is nice but I consider it more art work than photography.

Poorly done HDR does look like paintings. Real HDR's stand out, but just look like very vibrant photos. By the way, photomatix is the best software to use.

Goes back to that whole question about photoshop being cheating or not, doesn't it? Of course, I fully agree with you kirbinster

The water/shore line is broken at the merge points between the panels in the panorama. I'd suggest a little PS touchup to smooth those out.

Nice HDR, not overdone like so many.

I know. It was more exaggerated before, but I smoothed it out a little.

Nice shot. Post process looks good too. I have seen some though that are really amazing works....Actually look at trelaflip's HDR images. Those are more on the artistic side which I like. This the colors seem a bit off too. A bit like an older photo.

Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder but the angle in which you shoot the picture.
