I just had a photo shoot yesterday where the subject (7yo boy) has visible sunglass tan around his eyes due to him having to wear sunglasses a lot because of his sensitive eyes. What is the best way to remove the tan? I've tried the usual tricks -- clone, healing brush -- and none are totally working for me.
Below is an example of what I'm talking about. This shot is sooc. I appreciate any help!

I would try duplicating and then lowering exposure on bottom layer till that white area wher ethe sunglasses were matched the rest hte face. Then on the top layer carefully erase that area exposing the underexposed layer underneath. Might still need some healing....
you can clone it but its gonna take alot of work to get the seamless look you want in the face..... You will need to leave the eyes alone so you might want to mask those before erasing.

On that particular image (333x500px) it is extremely easy to correct.
Make a layer on top of it. Set it on overlay blending mode. Select 14px round soft brush and set on 5% opacity. Brush over the lighter area with dark brown eyedropped from his cheek. If needed make another layer on multiply and brush some black on the lightest parts like the area next to the hair. Maybe use some dodge on the nose if you like. What does sooc mean?

I know it's been several weeks since I posted this, but I wanted to finally share the results of my pp work with this --- thanks to the great tips I received!!! You can barely see the tan now.
