Question Editing Technique Terminology

I need help with editing technique terminology. When people ask what types of editing I'm capable of, I don't know the correct terms. For instance, the black and white photos with a touch of color added back in...what's that called? What about when I take a color photo, duplicate the photo and make it black and white and then turn down the opacity to make the color much more subtle, but still there?? I've searched the internet, but can't find anything to describe the proper terms. Anyone have a source?

The first is called selective colouring. The other can be done much more easier: just use the saturation slider.
