Default Question re PSE

Is there a way to transfer all my brushes etc to a new computer? Or do I have to download all over again?

I'm not using elements but from my expirience with computer programs in general - there should be. Manual way would include finding folder where they are stored and making backup, so you can later import those brushes on new computer. I'm pretty sure there is some export function inside PSE to do this. Only reason I could think of for not including this could be that Adobe is keeping that function for PS, but again you could do it manualy...

You could put the folder they are in on a USB stick and then place them into the proper folder on the new pc.

I have a back up HD - can I just "plug" that into the new computer and it would just "do it"?

You'll have to put it on the drive. If it isn't there already, put a copy on it and you'll be good.

Your brushes are in .abr files somewhere (wherever you saved them). Just copy them onto a f;ash drive of some sort, and then paste them into a folder on the new computer. Then just import them once youre in PS.

as above Pat, just find the file and copy/paste.

learning the hard lessons.. after a hard drive failure a few months back,
i now back-up all my brushes & fonts onto my external hard drive so i dont have to download them all again if something turns to custard.
