Default processing question

Hi all
I took a shot a while ago of a lighthouse & decided to get it printed to frame in the bathroom, problem is when i put it on a usb stick & got it printed to the size i wanted the top of the lighthouse is cut of the photo. How does this happen, do i need to save it to a certain size/ratio to get it to print properly?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I cant get my head around it.

You need to size the image down if it is getting cropped.

Can you click on the image within your program to see what the dimensiosn are? Chances are it s a different size you are trying to print.
You can resize the image byt the dimensions you want t to be. In psp that can be found under image and then resize

It depends on the ration that you are printing and the ration of your image. What PP software do you use?

Make sure the image is at least 300dpi, and then go to resize the image and set the measurement unit to centimeters or inches instead of pixels. Then resize it appropriately for the printing.

You can do a crop with the crop tool for the size that you want printed and have the resolution at 300 dpi when you set the crop size. I would suggest a light sharpening after cropping before getting printed.

The crop tool looks like a thick bordered square and if I'm not mistaken is towards the top of the toolbar possibly under the lasso tool.
