Default Converting from raw to jpeg

How do I get the best quality jpegs when converting from a raw image. I use a Canon Rebel Xsi and convert with the software which comes with it. I select the highest quality for the jpeg, but I am not sure what dpi to use the default is 300 and I can go as high as 30000. What is the best setting for the dpi for quality prints which can be cropped.

Default Conversion from RAW to JPEG

The default value is fine enough. I use a eos 5d and shoot only in RAW mode. However for printing i convert to tiff files using 300 dpi. DPI will effect the size of the file. I print 20x30 prints on a Kodack led II printer and i use 250 dpi. higher dpi beyond a point does not really improve the quality of the picture. it is actually the PPI that makes the difference.
