Default Ok, this is probably a dumb question....

Ok, I can't stand it any more. I can not figure something out. I opened a picture in photoshop. Did some PP work, applied an action. Merged all the layers and went to save. But when I try to save, there is NO option for JPEG. I've had this happen a handful of times and end up just scrapping what I did or saved it as a photoshop file (PSD). What am I doing that is not allowing me to save pictures as a JPEG. It won't even give me the option. It doesn't happen all the time, seriously maybe only like 5 times ever. But I can never figure out what I did to make that happen. Can anyone help?

(And of course, I'm sure its something stupid that I'm going to kick myself in the butt for when I find out...uggh)

Oh ya...and I have PHotoshop CS3....

You're probably in 16bit mode.

Just checked, that's not it. Its in 8 bit. Darn...I'm just going to close it out. I know what all I did, so I can do it again. But dang, this is totally annoying me. Ugh.

You probably have multiple layers in the file. Ctrl-Shift-E will merge them

Nope. I've saved multi-layered files as jpeg plenty of times.

Coincidentally I had the same issue as JodyGall today. I ended up saving as .psd

Have you created a new channel or path? I had the same problem and had to flatten my channels/paths to save to jpg. Or I had left the quick mask on.

Go to Image>Mode>RGB

Sometimes I will switch to CMYK or Indexed and it won't give me the option to save as a JPG unless I switch to RGB
