Default What do you think of this PP?

It was sunny yesterday, so I decided to take some pictures of my dog, Dagan. Well, one of the only good shots I got of him ended up being pretty dark. I tried my best at correcting it on GIMP, but I know very little about post processing work so I know its not the best editing in the world. I'm not looking for a detailed critique. I just want to know if I did a decent job at editing the photo.

Any tips for future reference would also be appreciated.

Love what you've done so far!

You could try putting a motion blur on the ground to give a bit more focus on the dog? (I'm not sure exactly how you'd go about this but I'm sure Google would through up some results)

Thank you! What do you think of the colors and stuff in the picture? Does it look too bright?

I personally don't think it's too bright, I love what you've done with it

I quite like that the dog is still dark - you can get a sense of the sun on his brow witht he lovely contrast but it's light enough to be able see all the detail on the face and in the fur.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I thought Dagan was still a little dark even after the edit. That's why I came here. but after looking at the photo some more, I don't think it's that bad.
