Default American Flag text

Iwo2

American Studies is a class at my high school, and over the weekend we had an Iwo Jima reenactment, and I played photographer.
Done in Photoshop CS4

What I did was type the desired text out in a nice blocky font (I used stencil) Made it white, and slightly larger with a stroke. Under the select toolbar picked color range, set it to white. The text was now outlined with the marching ants overlay. While the text still selected, I switched over to a flat American Flag layer that was located "on top" of the text. Moved the outline of the text accordingly. Inversed the selection, and pressed delete. Leaving nice American Flag-inized text. Which I copied over to the flag photo.

Voila!
