Definately worth a try. Sime I'll give the canon a go though, always looking to better my prints, but I think it'll be hard to beat the jessops satin.
Im from Australia but moved to the U.S so im not sure about jessops but ill ask around. I have a cannon inkjet printer which i'm fairly happy with but always looking to improve on what i have. I was printing fairly large (13x19 aka Super B) last semester and got really good matte results with staples paper, oddly enough. This was on an Epson 1800 I think.

I think that the manufacturers would try to have you believe that you will get the best results from paper that is the same as their printer brand. And store employees try that one too by trying to make sure you buy the matching paper. Personally, I think it's a matter of paper quality (since I use Epson paper quite often on my Canon printer ). If it were a matter of getting the best prints only on matching paper, the 3rd party paper sellers would have a very hard time, and yet as has been mentioned, places like Jessops sound like they have some excellent quality stuff.
