Bright highlights have to go. Not a lot can be done to the burnt highlight areas as far as using software to alter brightness and/or color. With a little time you can replace the highlighted areas using the clone tool in PS. Or make a selection elsewhere in the photo, then copy and paste to replace the areas you wish to cover. I did both edits pretty quickly, but you can see what can be done.
I would usually take more time. I am sure others can suggest a better alternative.

kunaldaswani,

I could have been clearer in that suggestion, and still think you can submit it to "What You Would Do" thread. Or we could finish this one?

SalsaX

However your program works, remove the b/g, cleanly and completely on first copied layer. Add a gradient b/g layer in compatible colors, darker on outside. Use copy of "dancers" layer for shadow: darken completely (no detail), blur to a shadow quality you like, lighten enough to stand out from man's trouser leg/ woman's hair. Grab handles of that layer, distort shadow down and to the right; send back one layer. Add modest frame for containment, also in compatible color.

Hmmm.....that first "what you would do" was so much fun ....would it perhaps be best to just start this thread (#2) over? Even the clever edits that have been presented here contain no explanation. And the photo is still unavailable...

The Medium size (which I used) is still available through "Critique My Shot," @Salsa.
