Over the holidays I took some really nice family photos outside. They seemed very clear and sharp when I downloaded them onto my computer. I e-mailed them to a Kodak site and when I got them back, the quality was nothing like what I saw on my computer. I downloaded them on the 'quality' setting, they went slower but were supposed to be better quality. Am I better off after editing them, to put them on a CD and physically bringing them somewhere to be processed or shouldn't that matter? I feel like I'm making progress with my camera as far as the settings and having things turn out, until I process them...any suggesstions?

Dont use Kodak's printing system. Find a good local printer, or use a better online system

Print sharpening is a whole "other" area....Depends on types of print (inkjet or photo sensitive), type of paper (glossy/matt/etc)...and other less significant factors.
In general, for ink jet prints (most labs, especially inexpensive ones) the images need "over sharpened" to allow for ink "bleed".
