Default Problem in Elements8

Im trying my hand at an HDR edit using the Photomerge Exposure option in Elements 8. I took 3 shots (one at 0,+1, and -1) from a tripod. After Elements merged the 3 the result was terrible blurry. Any ideas why?

Was the subject stationary?

How do the individual photographs look.

What exposure mode were you in when shooting?

Did you use manual focus and not change focus between shots?

Can you post an example?

Yes the subject was stationary. Just went back and looked at individual shots and they are all crystal clear. however it does look like the 1st shot at the correct exposure level is in a slightly different position than the other 2.. im thinking i may have pushed down on the tripod by accident. Camera was in full manual mode but i had the lens set to AF.

I think i got it taken care of. I just took out the photo that was taken at the correct exposure and used the +-1 shots. seems to be working great now. Ill post the result in the critique section later.

Still a problem im having just with a different topic... I was just using the Multiply function here in the layers and for some reason it wont recognize the small corner where the top of the barn hits the sky... its like that part of the picture doesnt exist. I even tried the quick select tool and it wont grab it...
