Default Saving Pictures in PSE?

For some reason when I save some pictures in PSE, they aren't saving properly and I can't reopen the files. I have no idea how to fix this. I have to save the pictures 2x for it to save properly. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you know how to fix it?

Maybe it would help to tell us which version of PSE you are using and exactly how you try to save the photos (file type etc.).

Sorry its Elements ( and I'm trying to save them as Jpeg files. When I'm saving pictures from certain folders on my computer it warks fine (like my sept folder is fine) but when I save from otehr folders it just doesn't save right. If I want to save it I have to hit save and it saves in some weird file( when I click on properties it just says file under file type)PSE can't even open it. If I hit save again before exiting PSE9 it will save correctly but I have to list a new file name. All the settings as far as I can tell are set right. My image is flattened....I don't understand.
