Default Corel Paint shop pro X4

I'm still pretty new to photography, and have very little experience with editing. The only thing I've ever really done is fixing exposure minimally with Picnik online. I bought a Canon T3i (upgrade from a base model Canon EOS). I have the opportunity to buy Paint shop pro X4 for $10.00 Would this be a good idea for me to use to start out with?

Photoshop can be quite expensive right? I am a student, so I could get a student discount I believe.

I paid about $25 for PSP X2 and it does everything I need and more (I use the Canon program to edit my RAW files). Even with your discount, PS is still going to be hundreds of dollars.

I use Paint Shop Pro X4 along with GIMP (more Gimp than PSP). It is a great program for the money and if you can get it for 10 dollars, I'd say yes.

Thanks for the input. I think I will go ahead and get it. I want something to work with right away, and won't be able to afford much else right now, due to having to move suddenly. I purchased my camera from Amazon, then got an email saying I could get it for $10. Guess I will

Default I like it

I am on a very tight budget and I am still using X2. I would up grade in a minute. Paintshop has been easy to learn, and been satisfying to me. Can do lots of fun stuff and there is tons of stuff on you tube to help you.

Go for Paint Shop Pro. I've been using X2 for a year or so and find that it does all I want. In fact there are a million functions I haven't even looked at yet. It doesn't have the status of CS5 and Lightroom but remember, it isn't the Post processing program that makes you a good photographer although the Adobe corporation might want you to believe that.
