Processing RAW files in ViewNX2 and Photoshop

In the past I have done adjustments to RAW files in the ViewNX2 program that came with my camera. I have just installed adobe photoshop CS5 and when I open RAW files that I have edited in ViewNX2, the changes I have made in ViewNX2 are not applied. I don't particularly want to redo the work Ive done in ViewNX2 - is there a way I can open the RAW files in photoshop with the changes I made in ViewNX2 applied whithout converting the file to JPG?

When you're done editing them in ViewNX2, does it save an xmp file? The xmp file is where all the edit information is stored for the RAW file. So if it's not saving that information, then it's probably being stored within an internal database inside ViewNX2. If this is the case, then check the settings for the program to see if there's an option to save information into external xmp's.

I've never used ViewNX2, so somebody else may be able to give you more detailed instructions. I just know that this is sometimes the problem with LR3. Mine was defaulted not to save information into the xmp files, so whatever changes I made in LR, never transferred to Photoshop.
