Default Rendering Quality in LR3

Anyone else have the experience of LR3 rendered images looking “softer” in the Library mode compared to the Develop mode? I have actually made the mistake of trashing a couple of images in Library mode because I thought the focus was “off”… only to realize they looked much more crisp and clear in Develop mode. Any idea why or what setting might affect the view quality in Library Loupe View mode?

When you are importing the photos into LR are you rendering 1:1 or minimal? I think when you go into develop it renders the image to a higher quality. One option is to try importing at 1:1 though the rendering process can take a while. If you don't need to work on them immediately, go grab a snack or something.

I'll experiment with that and see. Yes, I am currently using the minimal setting, so I'll see if that makes a difference. I was just surprised... after a couple of years of using LR...to find out there was a difference between the render quality of the two modules! Thanks for the suggestion.
