Post Lightroom Presets

Only some presets seem to work with certain photos yet when you use a downloaded one (not to mention the thousand of free presets out there) the photos become over exposed with high contrast leaving you to adjust it which is ok but it is not the same. Sometimes it comes out okay and other times not. It's very misleading. I only ever use one preset with my photos depending on the scenery and colours in the photo. I come across so many beautiful effects but they don't come out the same.

Part of the problems with all presets is that they won't look the way they do when you originally saw them unless your image has the exact same exposure, lighting, tone and colors, etc...

It's a shame that more people don't realize that since they see a preset and think "wow, my photos will look like that!"... and it's rarely case..

Might I suggest to everyone that before considering getting (especially buying) a preset, you really look at the image and ponder whether your style of images are at all like the samples shown because if they don't seem similar in the ways I mentioned above, they will NOT look like the preset samples.
