Default Who uses Portrait Professional?

I'm curious to know how many of you use this program.

I've seen it used on some pictures recently and wasn't impressed. I feel like the faces looked a little fuzzy and plastic looking and couldn't get past that.

My understanding from the person who showed me the pictures was that you "just click on ____(fill in with facial feature of choice) and the program does it automatically. I'm not sure I would like to hand over that much control to a software program. Of course, the person who showed the pictures thought they had done the best thing in the world! I use photoshop and do some light corrections to blemishes or splotches of redness but nothing major.

So how many have used this program and did you find it the same way or is it adjustable?

You can download a trial version and see for yourself. If you leave it to it's default settings I think it is too much but you can back off the sliders either in total or in a particular area. You can also exaggerate everything and make charachature like images with elongated necks and buggy eyes - for for shots of the in-laws.... There is a user forum and users post their efforts some are really really bad but there are people who know how to use a subtle hand and it looks like a very nice program.
Check out Portraiture as well, several DPS members like that program as well.

I have it and Bruce is correct. Used carefully it can produce reasonably decent results. Unfortunately, many users overdo it and end up with very plastic looking results. Some of the tools I don't think are precise enough or don't allow for an exact fit to shapes like face, and eyebrows in particular (need more moveable dots) and can alter the persons shape slightly.

Thanks, I use photoshop (and am happy with it) and wasn't so much interested in purchasing the software as much as I was interested in peoples opinions. I wasn't impressed with what I had seen (way to plastic looking) but a family member loves it and brags about how awesome it is. Just wanted to compare thoughts on it. Thanks for the input.
