Question Lines in Microsoft Photo Viewer

When I view some of my photos through MS Photo Viewer there are vertical lines. If I expand the photo just a little the lines seems to go away. There are not lines in Photoshop Elements 8 nor Lightroom 3. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

The second thing I would like to know if anyone can recommend a simple viewer for just looking at the photos when I do not want to get into PSE or Lightroom? Thank You for any input!

Sounds like the images are aliasing. When you zoom in, it goes away because the small things that make an image alias, get bigger and don't cause it anymore.

It usually means you have some repeating pattern in the image and that its is fairly sharp.

Picasa works well for viewing the images quickly
