Snow flake in his eye

Hello,
My dog and I decided we were going to take a few pictures today out in the snow. We got a few good images in the 30 or so minutes we were out and this is one that I think would be my second best of the day. As you can see there is a snow flake somewhere between his eye and the lens. Is this a lost cause or is there a fix. In the large version the flake is translucent and you can make out most of his eye. I tried editing in Gimp but the end result looks like something I would rather throw out. Anyway thanks.

Nice job but what I'm after is the removal of the white crazieness at his left eye. The anomaly may be a snow flake or might be a flake that got on the lens, melted and caused a reflection ,coincidentally, right in/on his eye. Anyway It is a major distraction for me. I wish I could just show him the picture and have him pose exactly like this again but he says no, he would rather play and the snow is to cold on his butt.
