Well, if you want a simple tut, here goes;
1.) open image 2.) add layer 3.) select brush tool and set hardness at 0 4.) set brush tool to white and put a bunch of white 'dots' all over the image It's going to look horrid but, that's the simple version...

I wasn't trying to be a d-bag about it but, that really is the simple version! ![]() What is it that you don't understand in the tuts?

lol i know i was a bit vague there wasn't i...
Firstly tutorials vary on the version of photoshop - so i could find a tutorial to do the thing i want then find out it's for grown up PS and not elements, meaning i don't have half the functionality. Then there are the tutorials that presume you are a graphic designer and im sat at the computer going "duuuuuuuhhhh you say wha?!" I know what i want to do....but i think it's just beyond my realms of capabilities and need to reign it in to suit my ability. White dots on a tree it is! ![]() Seriously all i want to do is santa flying over our house and our house covered in snow - all graphics the same so not a photo of the house covered in snow (easy at the moment!) because that wont fit with the graphical santa and sleigh...does that make sense? I can do it in paint but it's all flat and, well, looks like its been done in paint

Have you tried googling the version of PSE you have and the tut name? Something like "PSE3 snow tut".

I have an old version of Elements and I've found that in many cases the grown-up PS tutorials are still mostly applicable to it, it's just that there are a couple of steps that need to be done a little differently in Elements. You could post what tutorial you've been trying and what steps have you stuck, perhaps then someone could suggest alternative ways of doing the same in Elements.
